Yes, but we must have your physical title. Ask your lienholder to send it to us at Flathead County Treasurer, 290 A North Main, Kalispell, MT 59901. A request form is available on the Motor Vehicles page under Forms & Documents, listed as the Lienholder Letter. Print it, fill it out, and send it to your lienholder to request that your physical title be sent to the Treasurer's office.

No. As of October 1, 2025, notarization is no longer required on a Montana title for individuals or businesses. Titles produced after October 1, 2025 no longer include a notary section. Titles produced before that date are accepted without the notary section completed.

You can register your vehicle once the dealer delivers the title work to our office. If your temporary registration permit is close to expiring and you have not heard from us, contact your dealer to ask about your title work or to extend your temporary permit.
